Overview
dubStudio capture module permits to record films directly from a traditional or digital VCR in AVI2 files (Audio Video Interlace Version 2) format. This format helps save many hours of video and audio in one file .
To preserve sound's quality, the audio PCM codec in 48kHz mono or stereo format is used. While all the video codecs can be used if it can record, read and seek in real time. Certified codecs are listed at the end of this section .
Thanks to dubStudio's security model, it is also possible to encode the video to protect it from being read without permission. More information is available in that module's section.

User and Project Security
This module helps to preserve security by stopping unwanted copies of the project being made. It is included in dubStudio solution and is integrated into the dubCapture module to display any film.
Using military-grade encryption, user-restricted and project-restricted software and hardware keys, and identity-based dynamic watermarking, the new dubSecure module permits total control of video assets during the post-production process.
Its video encoding function makes visible the video only to those who possess the right password. If a password is given during a video's capture , header and data are encoded by using Blowfish algorithm. This algorithm equivalent to DES and IDEA uses encoding keys of between 32 and 448 bits in length and helps the video encoding and decoding in real time. Even if this video is saved in a AVI file, it becomes unreadable by any other media player.
The video marking function adds a digital watermark to a random position on each of the video frames. The watermark is composed of dubStudio's logo and a code for the protection key. This is added in the full screen, television and monitor output. Thanks to this watermark, it is possible to retrace the source of unauthorised copies.
Total user and project level security
dubStudio software installations are protected and individually distinguished by unique hardware keys required to unlock licensed modules and projects. Users with different levels of access within a project scope can be issued keys limited in functionality as required. Content can be shipped physically with security and confidence. Audio content can be transmitted electronically without exposing video at all.
